Düsseldorf chip startup Ubitium raises $14m for a universal processor for physical AI
The two-year-old company says it already has working first silicon.
Düsseldorf semiconductor startup Ubitium has raised $14 million in seed funding led by Ibex Investors, with OpenOcean, existing investors KBC Focus Fund, Runa Capital and Inflection, and Quantum Systems co-founder and co-CEO Florian Seibel, who invested personally. It brings the company's total seed funding to $18 million since its founding in 2024.
Ubitium is building one reconfigurable processor to handle sensing, AI inference and real-time control for robots, drones, vehicles and industrial machines, jobs usually split across separate chips. Its first chip, the UB108, was made on Samsung's 8nm process; tape-out of the commercial UB410 and evaluation units are planned for 2027.
