Seaya, the Madrid-based technology investor, has launched Seaya Nova, a new growth fund, after reaching a €600 million first close in about six months, it announced on 22 October 2026. The fund will lead or co-lead Series B to D rounds in European technology companies, investing €20 million to €50 million per company.

It is the largest fund in Seaya's history. Spanish business daily Cinco Días calls it the firm's first mega-fund and reports that it takes Seaya to €1.2 billion in assets under management.

Backed by the European Investment Fund

The fund is backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) through the European Tech Champions Initiative (ETCI), the EIB Group programme created to close the funding gap facing Europe's growth-stage technology companies, according to Tech.eu and EU-Startups. Other institutional investors, corporates and family offices also invested, though Seaya did not name them.

The €600 million is a first close, not a final close, so the fund could still grow.

Who runs Seaya Nova

Seaya Nova is led by Beatriz González, the founder and managing partner of Seaya, and Vinoth Jayakumar, who joins as managing partner of Seaya Nova. Jayakumar brings more than a decade of European growth investing, including backing Revolut, Wise, Thought Machine and ICEYE, according to the announcement. Alongside the fund, Seaya is opening an office in London, Tech.eu reports.

"Europe now produces companies capable of leading their categories globally. The question is no longer whether we can build them here, but whether we can scale them from here," Jayakumar said in the announcement. "AI is compressing the path from product-market fit to category leadership, and the winner needs capital earlier and in larger amounts."

Three strategies under one roof

With the new fund, Seaya will run three investment strategies: Seaya Ventures for early-stage companies, Seaya Andromeda for sustainability, and Seaya Nova for growth. The idea is to back European technology companies from their first rounds through to international expansion. Seaya was founded in Madrid in 2013, and its sustainability fund Seaya Andromeda had a €300 million final close in 2024, EU-Startups reports.

"Seaya Nova is the natural evolution of what we have built over thirteen years," González said. "We started backing founders at the earliest stage, added a sustainability strategy with Seaya Andromeda, and now can support the best European companies all the way to global leadership."

Why growth funds matter now

Europe has built a deep base of seed and Series A investors over the past decade, but founders often struggle to find European investors who can lead rounds of €20 million and more. That gap tends to push scaling companies towards US funds. Seaya Nova's focus on companies "with proven models, durable economics and global ambition" puts it squarely in that part of the market.

It is part of a broader trend. In the same week, the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund led Pigment's $250m Series E, and quarterly data showed European tech funding reached €27.8bn in Q3 2026, much of it in a few mega-rounds.

What it means for European founders

For founders who have reached product-market fit and solid revenue, especially in Southern Europe, Seaya Nova adds a sizeable new lead investor for Series B to D rounds. Its ticket size of €20 million to €50 million makes it relevant for companies scaling internationally rather than for early-stage teams, who remain the focus of Seaya Ventures.
